Coleman is 2 and such a big boy!

It is so hard to believe our first born is 2. He and my sister Meggan celebrate the same birthday! She turned 21 and he turned 2. I can remember the day he was born like yesterday. We were scheduled to go in for my induction but it turned out I was already in labor with steady contractions. Because Dr. Nichols had a c-section, Dax and I rested from around 5:30 to 8:30 He then returned to break my water. A few more hours of easy labor and about an hour of pushing and our little Coleman was born at 1:21. Our family was there to celebrate his birth with us along with some friends. He was absolutely precious. We just couldn't get enough of him! He has blessed our lives immeasurably. We had his 2 year check-up last week and all is well. He was such a big boy...weighed standing up without crying, stood like a soldier so we could see how tall he is and let the nurse measure his head. All of these are out of the norm because he usually pitches a fit as we round the corner to the examination room. He is so small that we normally can weigh him on the baby scale because he won't stand up, but not this time. He was great! We talked about the doctor coming in and using his stethoscope to listen to his heart and check his ears for bugs...when Doctor Tamburin came in, the tears came down. We finished with a good report...25 lbs (3 lb gain since October), 33 3/4 inches tall, knows at least 20 words (where do they come up with this stat??? I laughed when asked that question because Cole doesn't quit talking), eats well, sleeps well and has no problem with sight or hearing. We are so blessed with a healthy loving boy! Some of our new favorites are hide and seek which goes like this
Cole: mama count! hide eyes! cole hide
Mama: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 ready or not here i come
Mama: where is cole
Cole: where cole is, where cole is...here cole is!

Think we need to work on the ebonics! He loves John Deere (a movie Uncle Ty gave him for Christmas), dancing, singing, playing with Owen and giving lots of kisses. He also loves Baby Einstein because we have brought them back out for Owen. Dax and I have to limit the watching to minimal because we can't stand them all the time. He is a big helper with the dishes and dirty clothes. He insists on throwing Owen's diapers away and loves helping make my bed.
Because of the lack of partying space we did dinner with the fam Friday night and met a few friends at McDonald's on Saturday. They loved it!

One thing I forgot to mention that he loves is blowing out candles. He wants us to light them at home just so he can blow them out. You can see the amazement and excitement in his eyes.
