Rain, Rain...

Cole decided he needed to play in the rain puddle outside once the rain slacked up. We have spent the day at Nana's since the weather was a little bad and we (me) didn't want to stay in our small house all day long...not able to go out. Aunt Alex and Chance were the culprits stripping Cole down and taking him outside. Once Chance showed him what to do he didn't want to come in and get clean.

Owen Update

Today was Owen's actual due date. It is so weird to think he is already 2 1/2 weeks old. We went for our two week check-up last Thursday and he weighed 7 lbs. 5 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. I am pretty sure about the weight but the length sounds wrong to me because I don't think he grew an inch and a half in 2 weeks but I could be wrong. He is changing in looks. Some say he looks like Cole but Dax and I both think that he looks different other than the lips. We are doing great! Cole loves "baby." We have to be careful to watch him with all the kisses and hugs he gives out. Owen has only woken Cole up a couple of times at night despite our small house. Luckily, Cole is a pretty hard sleeper.

Adjusting to life with 2 kids is a little overwhelming at times but I have made it a point to get out instead of staying cooped up in the house. Cole has had a play date with Nixon, he still goes to school two days a week, Owen and I have made it to church the past two Sundays and to a Sunday School social. We all went to Aunt Alex's pep rally last week and plan on making it to the game this week. I am looking forward to Owen growing and seeing my two boys playing together. I look forward to them being best friends.

Owen is Here!

This is Alex updating Holly's blog, so it may not all be right, because I am not real sure how to do this! Holly went to the doctor on Wednesday, and her doctor ended up putting her in the hospital. Holly was not expecting it, but she was okay with it. She wasn't real sure if she was going to have the baby that night or the next morning, all she knew was she wanted to hold off as long as possible, because her doctor was on call the next day. Holly ended up being able to hold off and Owen Monroe Pugh was born on Thursday, August 7 at 10:58 a.m. He was 7 lbs 2 oz. and 19 inches long. He is very cute and yes he does weigh more than Cole did! We have all decided he looks nothing like Cole, but kind of resembles our dad, As you can see in the pictures. Cole wasn't real sure at first, but loves him and points at Owen and says, "Baby." Holly and Owen are both doing great. ( and of course Holly looked great the whole time)They will be able to come home tomorrow, and they are looking forward to that. Sorry it is not much information, but I am sure Holly will be updating soon!

School Days are Officially Here

We made the decision literally a few days ago to send Cole to Mother's Day Out at our church. He will go on Tuesdays and Thursdays until lunch. I think it will be great for him to interact with other children his age. He of course sees his friends at Church on Sundays and Wednesdays but I think this will provide an extra learning experience. We went for open house last night and met his teacher, Mrs. Kelly. There are going to be 8 in his class. Some will stay all day and some will stay for just half the day like he is. When I made the rash decision to send him, my friend Julia, said she wanted to make her little girl, Nixon, an outfit. So, I thought, me too! What was I thinking? I haven't sewn since my junior year in college when I had to take a class for my major. Granted, I enjoyed the class and learned a lot but it is one of those things that unless you do it you forget it. Anyway, Christy Pittman appliqued the cutest apple on the front and I sewed it last night. If you were inspecting it, you would see that it is a terrible sewing job but on him it is precious. I will remember what he wore for the first day of school forever.
